Indefensible
When discussing U.S. politics, many people prefer not to deal in absolute statements. But sometimes, absolute statements are the only way to discuss them honestly.
Here are some empirically true statements that many people appear to have difficulty accepting:
- Donald Trump is an evil person who is doing objectively terrible things to the country. His first, last, and only priority is himself. He has repeatedly demonstrated that he has no real understanding of the purpose of government or his responsibilities as President. He cares not a whit about our Constitution, our laws, or the people of the nation he ostensibly is in charge of leading.
- I repeat: he is not a good person. He has no redeeming value as a President, a husband, a father, or a citizen. There is no morally neutral way to support Trump.
- Donald Trump is a liar, a criminal, a racist and a rapist. He will destroy anything in his path to protect himself. He is a bona fide sociopath who is untethered to reality and 100% motivated by self-interest.
- And no, both sides are not the same. Some choices are just wrong.
- He’s not just in the Epstein Files; he is the main character. We probably have more evidence that Donald Trump is a pedophile than we have evidence that Jeffrey Epstein was a pedophile.
- This is not a “matter of opinion.” This is not a difference in priorities. This is not a political dispute.
- This is not about sour grapes. Nor is it about “mean Tweets.”
- Ignorance is no excuse. Just because you are ignoring Trump’s moral bankruptcy does not absolve you from culpability.
- We are urged not to “normalize” this. But the only way to prevent that from happening is to hold Trump accountable for his actions. That’s it. That is the comprehensive list of how we stop this behavior from being “normalized.” Anything he gets away with will just embolden him further.
- There is currently no incarnation of the Republican Party that exists independently of Donald Trump.
- Political judgment is inextricably linked to moral judgment. If you support Donald Trump in light of everything we know, then you absolutely deserve to be judged negatively for it.

Absolutely all of this! And this is why I cannot, for the life of me, understand why the American public voted him in, not once, but twice!
Bravo! This sums it up perfectly. Also, we should start referring to the “Epstein Files”, especially those not yet released or unredacted, as the Trump Files.
