Explaining Extremely Obvious Things to People Who Refuse to Listen
October-November Wrapup
- Anyone who claims the Epstein Files are a political “witch hunt” is tacitly acknowledging that there is evidence in the files that can be used against Donald Trump.
- If Bill Clinton were implicated in the Epstein Files, the overwhelming majority of Democrats would want to see him prosecuted. If Donald Trump were implicated in the Epstein Files, the overwhelming majority of Republicans would make excuses for him.
- There were 274 FBI agents at the Capitol Building on January 6, 2021 because the loser of the recent Presidential election had just held a rally to try and overturn it. It was not a “false flag” operation to make diehard Trump supporters look like violent anti-democratic thugs.
- The FBI agents were not there to agitate the crowd of angry and delusional Trump supporters into actively storming the building and committing violence against police officers. (Trump did a fine job of that on his own.)
- The government shutdown had nothing to do with Democrats wanting to give healthcare to illegal immigrants. People in the country illegally were never eligible for Medicaid or Obamacare subsidies. Extending enhanced Marketplace premium tax credits would not benefit undocumented immigrants in any way.
- Republicans in Congress have not proposed a health care plan to replace Obamacare because they do not believe in government health care.
- Opposition to “socialized medicine” has been a plank of the GOP for at least 40 years. They want everything to be run by private industry.
- Whenever Trump is asked a question he doesn’t like, the first words that pop out of his mouth are “WHO ARE YOU WITH?” His goal is to discredit any news organization that would dare ask him such a disrespectful question. And he is letting the reporter and their news organization know that they are now The Enemy.
- It is probably not reasonable to expect enlisted service members to be able to discern whether their Commander-in-Chief is giving illegal orders. Therefore, the best-case scenario is to elect a president who does not give illegal orders.
- Failing that, the next-best case is to prosecute and remove any president who breaks the law.
- Since neither of those things appear to be happening, the best remaining option is to address the troops directly.
- “Who?” is not a sincere request for information; it is a kneejerk expression of contempt from lazy halfwits who can’t be bothered to spell out “I believe this person is unworthy of my time.” (Any sincere inquiry about an unfamiliar name is unnecessary in a world where Google exists.)
- To say that we should not judge others for voting for Trump is to suggest that there is less moral agency in how we choose to vote then there is in judging people for how THEY choose to vote. It implies that our political choices really don’t matter that much.
- But “It doesn’t matter who’s in charge” comes from a position of ignorance and privilege. It just means you don’t expect to be personally affected by it.

Well done. You are the most succinct of the substackers.
I would add: Trump is working with Putin and other authoritarian kleptocrats to wage world war 3 against democracy. Trump and Putin have coordinated attacks on the USA and Ukraine.
